Naughty childhood days

Naughty Childhood Days
I remember one naughty incident of my childhood. My cousin and I, who are of the same age group, spent our childhood together. He is more than my best friend in my life. We ate together, played together, slept together, went together to the school, also fought with each other, but again we became birds of the same feather. We both did a lot of mischievous things together. Since we both were the only 2 kids in our house at that time, everyone used to love us a lot. But this didn't mean that nobody shouted at us for the mischiefs we did. We used to get some punishment also.

Once, we both were playing some stupid games on the road. Once we were on the road- this itself meant that we are going to do some mischief. Controlling both of us and our mischiefs on the road, itself was a painful thing to our parents. There was one old man opposite to our house. He used to smoke cigarettes outside in the veranda and throw its bits in the small gutter outside the house. We both used to collect those bits and enact like we were smoking by putting those used bits into our mouths. Aaargh... I feel so much disgusting when I think of it now. First of all I hate cigarettes... More over, that irritating smoke.... Aargh....

Raksha Bandhan ???

Raksha Bandhan  ???

Last week, few of my friends asked me as to why I was still wearing the raksha bandhan rakhis to my hand. I usually wear them until the next raksha bandhan, which means that I wear them for an entire year, or until it cuts by itself. There is a belief that, the longer the rakhi stays in ur hand, the more good it is for you. It may be in the form of ur sister's blessings for your well-being. The name raksha bandhan itself tells that the sacred rakhi is tied for the raksha of the brothers.
I remembered an unforgettable incident in my life dealing with raksha bandhan, when my friends asked me about the rakhi bands i still wore. Usually, i get 4-5 bands tied on my hand on every occasion, 1 being tied by my sister and rest being tied by my cousins. I'm very lucky to have them as sisters in this aspect.
It so happened that one of my elder cousin, who didn't have any brothers, started tying this rakhi band to me from the time i was born. She was given so much respect that, she used to tie the band to me even before my sister tied the band to me. Every year it was the same. She would come home early morning with rakhi and sweets, before i left for the school and tie it to me before my sister tied. I also loved her for her care towards me.
From the time I was born, till the time I was 19yrs old, she tied the band to me. But at that point of time, it happened that some misunderstanding arised in her family on our family. On that raksha bandhan day, she didn't come to tie the rakhi to me. I'd waited for her till noon for her to come, without going to college. Since she didn't come even by that time, my mom called her and asked her as to why she hadn't come yet. We were shocked to hear her cruel wordings. She was not the same person as the one she was before. She had changed entirely. Her mindset was completely different. She had completely forgotten the way my mom used to take care of her when she used to come to our house. Most of the times, until she finished her schooling, she used to often come and stay in our house. She used to stay so many days that, one of my neighbour had asked my mom whether we have adopted her. She had forgotten everything about the care my mom had taken towards her. From that year onwards, until now, she hasn’t come to tie the rakhi band to me. Moreover, she hasn’t spoken to me at all…
So, one thought in my mind… Never ever give anyone so much respect which they don’t deserve… Respect them, only if they respect you…

Love the fascinating Petrol smell ???

Love the fascinating Petrol smell ???
These days, the most we hate is the smoke coming from the pollution. There is lot of traffic, especially in cities like namma Bengaluru. Even though the smoke smell is horrible, some of them like the smell of petrol and kerosene. During my school days, even I used to like their smell.
I used to take the private van to school, since our school doesn't have their own vans or buses. After all the classes got over, me and my cousin, who travelled in the same van, would go to the back entrance of the school and wait for our van there. This guy used to make 2 trips- one at 330pm and other at 430pm. Our classes left at 4. So we had to take the 2nd trip. Everyday we used to wait for 15-20min at the back gate for our van to arrive. During this time, we used to do some stupid things.
There were many private vans and auto rickshaws there at the back gate to pick up other children. Among them, some were new autos and some old ones. For us, the smoke coming from the autos was very fascinating, especially from the older autos. I used to stand at one end of the road and my cousin at the other end. As soon as the auto starts, we used to run behind them just to know if the smoke had a good smell. In case one of them liked it, he would call the other and both of us would run behind that auto until we could run. After the auto moved far from us, we used to come back to  the same place where we stood and wait for the next auto. In case we didn't like the smell, we used to look for another auto.
Those days we used to run for feeling the fascinating fragrance of the smoke coming out of those vehicles. But now, we hate to even go out in pollution. Even though these things sound stupid to us now, we never forget the stuffs we did in our school days.

Want to know how to make money ??

Time and Money Making
Last week, I’d been to Tirupati to visit the Lord Venkateshwara temple with my family. Lots and lots of devotees had gathered due to the 1st Saturday of ‘shravaNa maasa’. I hadn’t seen such a crowd till this time in my previous visits there. The heavy rainfall added more chaos to it. But all these chaos didn’t stop us from visiting the temple. The Lord’s ‘darshan’ went well. During the visit to the temple, I noticed one thing regarding the employees at the temple premises :
There are various security checks and other ticket-related checks while entering the temple. One such check was to count the number of people specified in the ticket and return back the acknowledgement. This checking was just before entering the ‘jail’, where the devotees are made to sit for long hours before letting to enter inside the temple. There were 5 guys there, just to tear the ticket and return the acknowledgement. At first, I didn’t understand why 5 people are needed for returning the acknowledgement. As guessed, there was something more happening there.
The person who was returning the acknowledgement was taking a bribe and all the 5 were to share the amount. The reason for taking that bribe was that, those who didn’t want to sit in those boxes called ‘jail’ had to pay him Rs. 50 per head. He would let them enter the temple queue without making to sit in those boxes. That queue would directly lead to the other side of the queue, without the need to sit there for ‘n’ number of hours.
The advantage ??
It would save atleast 2 hours time. I was shocked to know that such a kind of accepting a bribe is going on inside the temple premises. The most interesting thing I found was the amount which they collected by accepting that bribe.
Lets assume that in an hour, minimum 10 such people pay bribe and enter the queue. That means,
10 x 50 = Rs. 500 per hour.
Lets assume that they ‘work’ there for 10 hours. So,
          Rs. 500 x 10hrs = Rs. 5000 per day.

This amount is shared equally by those 5 people there. This means that each person gets Rs. 1000 per day leading to Rs. 30,000 per month(other than getting their salaries).
What job they do ??
Just tear the ticket and returning the acknowledgement !! This also, one person does this just for 2 hrs a day.

This was just an estimate made by considering only 10 people per hour pay the bribe. But there are thousands of devotees entering the temple every hour and I guess a minimum of 500 such people per day pay bribe, in order to save time. So it comes upto 7.5lacs per month, which means a whopping 1.5lac per person per month !!!!!!!!
Anybody ready to take up this job ??

An experience on my first day @ Infy MyDC

Celebrating 1st year @ Infosys
An experience on my first day @ Infy MyDC

12th July 2009 – This was my reporting date at Infosys Mysore. It was around 12pm I decided to leave my house at namma Bengaluru to begin my corporate journey (training) at Mysuru. My mom, dad, brother and my cousin all decided to drop me to the Heritage City. We all decided to go in our car. As I was about to leave my house, I saw all over my home sweet home. Then, I called up my grand-parents to inform them that I’m leaving to Mysore. I could hear them being a bit sad that I would be staying far from my house for the first time. Anyways, they were happy for me that I would be starting my career. As we were about to leave, my mom started weeping. She was so much worried as to how I would stay alone and look after myself for around 6 months at Mysore. I and my father calmed her and finally we left to Mysore.
We reached Mysore in around 3hrs and then headed towards the huge 343acre campus of the great organization – Infosys. There was a long queue near the gate where all the new trainees were standing for entering the campus. The luggage checking and some document verification were going on at the entrance of the gate. We quickly had some food outside the campus. Then, my parents accompanied me till the gate and waited for me to enter the campus. Finally, I entered the campus with my luggage. The first thing I saw there was the huge monument called the GEC 2- Global Education Center. Next, I found an interesting dome-like structure – it was the Multiplex, where they played latest Hindi and English movies on the weekends. It was almost like a mini city. I saw few of my friends waiting in the queue. After waiting for around 2hrs in the burning sun, I reached my Hostel room.
I’d got my room key – B92 128. This building #92 was at the farthest corner of the campus. All the guys got single rooms and the ladies got shared rooms. As soon as I entered my room, I was astonished to see that it was not like an ordinary hostel. It was more like a star hotel. The room was well furnished with all the facilities that one would wish. It was an AC room with a neatly arranged bed with a clean blanket and a bath-towel. There was a study table with study lamp, a huge wardrobe, two extra drawers next to the bed, LCD Television, hot water kettle with packets of milk powder, sugar, tea bag and coffee powder. There was also an attached bathroom with 24hrs hot water supply. I was very glad to see this superb room. I wasn’t expecting that the hostels would be so nice and clean. I was very happy and quickly took some pics to show it to my parents, who were still waiting for me near one of the food courts. Meanwhile, my brother and my cousin waited outside the campus, since only parents were allowed to enter the campus.
The campus was so huge that, going from hostel to the classrooms took half an hour by walk. There were around 3000 cycles all over the campus for 12000+ trainees. There were lots of Ladybird cycles there and a very few Hercules cycles. I quickly took one of the cycles standing outside my hostel and started heading towards my parents. It was a pink ladybird cycle. I drove fast in the pollution-free campus which had very neatly tarred roads. My hostel was newly built at that time and some painting work was going on outside the hostel on the foot-paths. After riding for around 5 minutes, I parked my cycle near the Multiplex. I asked 2-3 security guards standing there to show me the way to the food court where my parents were waiting. Now, I walked for about 5 more minutes and reached the food court. After searching for some time, I found my parents there. They were having some snacks in the meantime. They too were very happy after seeing the awesome campus and the pics of my hostel room. There was also an open amphitheatre just outside the food court. There was some discussion going there. I was amazed to see one of the most important people there. It was none other than Mr. NR Narayana Murthy – the chairperson of Infosys. It was the first time I was seeing that great person.
My parents were about to leave now as it was getting late. Also, there were my brother and cousin still waiting outside the campus. I accompanied them till the gate and bid good-bye. I went back to my room and started unpacking my luggage. I kept all my belongings in the wardrobe and was only thinking as to how the training will be for the next few months of my stay at Infosys.
This was my experience on the first day at Infosys MyDC – Mysore DC. I completed one year at Infosys now. Infy – the place to be…  :-)  :-)
